![]() ![]() Poets, writers, novelists, podcasters, and artists are welcomed in this group if they seek to gain the self-confidence and tools to publish. The group may also read and discuss the works of writers with disabilities or invite them to give readings or teach a topic. #Write and learn spellboard advanced how toThe group may learn styles of writing, such as a sonnet or flash fiction, or learn how to use submission management systems. Writers with disabilities meet virtually and/or in-person with the instructor and fellow writers to share new writing, such as a poem, a story, a chapter, or a script, provide constructive feedback, and research publication opportunities. The keystone program of Ability Write Now is a weekly writers’ workshop. AWN is designed for the writer who has already acquired advanced writing skills but wants to learn how to publish that may result in some form of payment. ![]() ![]() Writing samples, such as two poems of 40 lines or less each or one short story or chapter of 1,000 words or less, and a meeting with the instructor are needed before admittance. These supports build upon their strengths, focusing on their gifts, preferences, and learning styles. Staff, family, friends, and others will give support to ensure services are responsive and personalized to each writer’s needs, wants, and aspirations. Supports may include workshops, one-on-one writing coaching, editing, and submission research. Under the Small Business Development Center (Cornerstone Program) of Ability Now Bay Area, AWN provides publication assistance that may lead to some payment. ABILITY WRITE NOW!
